Key Points
- Start with the real destination and item attributes; a listed product does not establish route eligibility.
- Compare routes using the same contents and packed dimensions, including surcharges and tax treatment.
- Insurance has a premium, value limits, exclusions and claim deadlines; confirm each before paying.
Find an Eligible Route
Destination & Item Eligibility
Confirm the destination postcode, item types, battery attributes, dimensions and weight before choosing a route. Battery-containing electronics need a suitable channel. Restricted products should be checked with support before the purchase, rather than discovered only after they have reached the warehouse.
A route that works for clothing may not accept every electronic device, liquid or other special item. The platform also lists unsupported product categories and does not provide mainland-China delivery or forwarding-to-another-agent services. Use the current route description for the actual parcel.
Shipping Calculator Inputs
Open the MyCNBox shipping estimator. Select the destination country, enter the parcel weight and provide dimensions when relevant. Match any item attributes to what you are shipping.
| Field | Unit or input | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Destination | Country receiving the parcel | Choose the actual destination |
| Weight | Grams (g) | 2 kg = 2,000 g |
| Length, width and height | Centimeters (cm) | Use the packed parcel dimensions |
| Item attributes | Applicable product characteristics | Check the goods against the route description |
Compare the Freight Basis
Actual & Volumetric Weight
Some routes price bulky parcels using volumetric weight. Their divisor can differ, so read the selected route’s details. If a route calculates kilograms as length × width × height in centimeters ÷ 6,000, a 40 × 30 × 20 cm box has a volumetric weight of 4 kg. That example is a volume calculation, not a universal shipping rate or divisor.
Enter actual measured weight in the calculator’s weight field and supply the dimensions separately. Do not substitute a calculated volumetric figure for the scale weight unless the tool specifically asks for it.
Packed Dimensions and Comparable Quotes
The parcel-measurement article describes using the highest point of each dimension and rounding up to a whole number for billing. A measurement along a flat carton panel can therefore differ from the warehouse’s packed-parcel measurement. Ask support to identify the points and rounding if a dimension appears wrong.
Use the same destination, item attributes, contents and packaging assumptions for every route estimate. Keep actual scale weight separate from the calculated volumetric figure. The selected route determines how these inputs become chargeable weight; a divisor used in an example is not automatically the divisor for your route. The total-cost comparison illustrates why these parcel inputs can change a product-price comparison.
Remote, Oversize & Overweight Charges
The courier decides whether a postcode is remote and what surcharge applies. Check the exact address and selected service; a country being supported does not mean every island or outlying area is included at the same rate. The platform’s help states that courier-defined remote surcharges are passed on at the courier’s stated amount.
Each channel also has its own dimension and weight limits. Exceeding them can create oversize, overweight or combined charges. Reinforcement and retail boxes can change the packed dimensions, so compare the full packed-parcel quote instead of only a base rate per kilogram.
Route Comparison
- Check whether the route accepts the parcel’s item types.
- Read the size and weight limits before choosing a packing approach.
- Compare the full quote, including any route-specific extra charges.
- Apply an eligible shipping coupon at checkout; do not assume a displayed promotion has already reduced the calculator amount.
Final Measurement, Credit or Additional Payment
After packing, the warehouse settles the estimate against the measured parcel weight and dimensions. Excess freight is credited to the MyCNBox account balance. If more is required, check Logistics Orders → Pending Additional Payment and pay the difference for that parcel.
Keep the final dimensions and selected service with the payment record. A balance credit is different from money returned to a bank card; use the withdrawal process if an eligible balance is to be sent back through the original payment route.
Tax Handling and Dated EU Updates
Tax & Customs Handling
The route description indicates whether customs duties are included. Check that description for your selected destination and service rather than assuming every quote is tax-inclusive. Follow any document or payment request associated with the parcel’s clearance; there is no single tax allowance that applies to every destination.
EU Service Update — 22 October 2026
The 22 October 2026 service notice states that EU tax-included lines receive a €2-per-parcel increase. For those services, MyCNBox says it and its logistics partners handle the product-identification information (PID), and that later customs-duty payment requests should be sent to support for handling.
The same notice temporarily suspends EU services without taxes included, including the relevant EMS and UPS options. Check current availability at shipping checkout. This is a dated platform service announcement, not a general description of EU customs law or a promise that every route accepts every product.
EU Budget-Line Timing & Availability
The EUR Air Cargo-SS (Preferential) announcement describes a lower-cost EU option with a reference transit time of 20–30 working days. Airport queuing can leave roughly the first two weeks without a tracking update, and some remote delivery areas are unsupported.
Check the exact service and destination before using this reference. A slow budget line is unsuitable for a time-sensitive order. Its published queue allowance is also different from the general first-tracking guidance; ask route support to interpret the event history rather than applying one tracking interval to every service.
Choose Insurance Before Submission
Premium, Goods Value and Compensation Limits
Insurance is optional at parcel submission. The insurance-cost article quotes a route-dependent premium of 3%–8% of package item value. Confirm the premium and available cover displayed for the actual service rather than calculating a universal flat charge.
The policy limits the insured amount to actual goods value, no more than five times the actual international freight, and an absolute ¥5,000 cap per parcel. For illustration, ¥500 freight gives a five-times limit of ¥2,500, so the ¥5,000 absolute cap does not raise that parcel’s limit. This is a limit calculation, not automatic compensation for every incident.
Read the event-specific treatment and exclusions below before selecting the amount. Keep purchase evidence and the final insurance selection with the parcel record; claim approval also depends on the event, evidence and reporting deadline.
Insurance Scope & Exclusions
Recipient-caused problems, customs non-cooperation, prohibited goods, intact-box fragile breakage and force-majeure events are excluded. Electronic malfunction and subjective quality dissatisfaction are not ordinary insured transit damage. Forwarded or non-procurement goods do not qualify for full-value cover.
| Event | Published treatment, subject to acceptance |
|---|---|
| Carrier-confirmed loss | Freight plus insured goods value |
| China export seizure | Insured goods value and freight |
| Destination seizure | Insured goods value; carrier confirmation and no recipient fault required |
| Eligible air-route tracking delay | After 15 days: 10% of freight; after 40 days: a further 30%. Sea, EUB and SAL are excluded |
| Physical damage or missing contents | Evidence and the applicable transport-loss terms are required |
Different incident types have different evidence and reporting requirements. Check the claims section of the returns guide before shipping and report a problem promptly; buying insurance alone does not establish that a claim will be approved. Ask for written confirmation about tampering or third-party theft, which are treated inconsistently in different policy paragraphs.
